17--Skyline 17M

Some of the best wind and snow conditions for any event ever.
South East wind put every one kiting on the west side of the site.
The free riding was some of the best Skyline can serve up.

I raced, and had so much fun, glad there was 1 of the 4 races that was a throw out. Most of the leaders were on 17M Zephyr's. My last race I let Billy pass between me and others, because he has more riding on winning, but it put me in the end of the pack with the hacks. At the top I got slammed by a little 10M kite, who hat to take a lot of room sining, he knocked me out of the sky, and into the bushes. It took me about 45 min. to get uncaught and untangled to kite down, just before dark. 5th place in the US Snowkite Nationals, and yes there were more than 5 racers...
Tequila was over the top that night.
The next day was 9m ripping SE winds, and the Winduro... I was to tired to do that race.

15--Pass Creek 12M, 17M

Matt and I had plans for Lake Creek, but it was not really windy.
We went exploring and found a big open area at the top of Pass Creek
Good snow, but light winds. Seemed enough for the 12M,
but rigging the 17M was a much better call.
We rode for a few hours in bluebird conditions.
Lake creek still has better terrain, but lots of fun to explore.

14-- Lake Creek and Silver Meadows 12MIII

We got an early start and ripped up to LC.
Pretty good wind and snow,
Very northerly wind, let us try some new terrain.
Nice little hills were fun to jump off of.
When we stopped for lunch,
we were curious what the wind would be like at SM.
It has a more northerly facing draw to funnel the wind.
So we zoomed down the trail and re rigged.
It had a very nice little gliding slope,
the north wind was a little better there, fun spot.
3 day kiting the Uinta's, good stuff.

13--HellifIknow Uinta's 9M

Optimism was the word today, but clouds overruled.
All the known spots were socked in,
we finally found a spot with some clearing,
but it was less cloudy cause the wind was blowing
SO FRICKIN HARD, that the clouds were getting ripped apart.
It was buy some trees help with visibility,
but the trees must have made the wind very turbulent.
Only kited for half hour, tops.

12--Lake Creek 12MIII

Today was one of those days that reminds us why we snowkite.
Just frickn awesome. New kite, 12 Manta III, is the best foil I've ever flown.
Good, powerful wind, that made it so we could explore the whole area.
Nice snow all over the place, and good friend to share it with.

11-- Duchesne Ridge 13M

Matt and I headed to the Uinta's,
not eves sure if we were going to take our kites.
We tied them on our sleds, just in case.
At the top it was socked in at the usual spots.
So we hit the trees for some powder sledding.
As we popped out of the trees on Duchesne ridge,
it had cleared some, and we felt a breeze.
The wind was light,
but the snow was soooo creamy,
that we wanted to stay all day.
Unfortunately the wind didn't want us around that long.
We packed up and went searching for new unknown kite spots.

10--Skyline 9M, 13M

Got to the hill pretty early for me.
It was blowing 9M at 11:00.
Rigged my Frenzy and had a great time.
Matt got there a little later,
and we headed back to the west ridge then south.
for the softening snow.
I like that little frenzy, lots.
Barely made it back to the road
as a storm rolled in and softened the wind.
After lunch bigger kites worked great.
We covered lots of ground as powered as we were.
Searching for the softest snow,
in the gullies, and behind the quakies, was the softest.
This weekend restored my liking of Skyline.

9--Skyline 13m

I was working down south, got to the hill at 2:00.
Chris Nester and I rode to the west ridge,
and south to find some soft snow.
Pretty powered, and fun out there.

After kiting I went to join in for Brian's birthday.
Dinner, Shots, and karaoke at the triangle.
