7--Strawbs CC 13M

Pretty light wind, but soft snow.
I think I'd rather have soft sonw
and light wind,
than shitty snow, and stronger wind.
Vern found his pump,
after spending $200 on a metal detector?

6--Strawbs CC 13M

Sunny sky, new soft snow,
not very deep, but tons of fun.
Pretty lit on my 13M, big floaty jumps.
Not a lot of kiters out.
Most made wrong choice, IMHO
and went to Strawberry River.
Vern burried his battery pump,
spent the hole second session searching,
and could not find it.

5--Lake Creek 13M

Took pix with fullface helmet on,, woops.

Hard up for some fun.
SW wind, almost rain, hardpack and whiteout conditions.
We still rigged on a limited area for that direction.
Close to trees, marker posts, signs and in some sagebrush
to help us see where we were kiting.
There were a few soft spots in the sage.

4--Lake Creek Sled

Matt and I went looking for wind,
didn't happen..
We did find another good looking kite spot.
Up Woodland trailhead, just north from campground.

3--Caribou Mtn to Alpine, Sled

Sledded the powder ridges and draws,
from Caribou Mtn, past Greys Lake,
to the huge range of open meadows.
Then trail ride to Alpin Wy. for pizza.
The back. 83 mile day.
Tequila and movies at the Dike cabin.
No Wind

2--Dike Lake, Sled

Irv and I, went for a night time sled ride,
in the open fields around Blackfoot Reservoir.
We were looking for rabbits to chase,
can't belive we didn't see any, with tracks all around.
Nice little drift ridges to play on.
Chile and Tequila dinner.

4--Lake Creek 11M

It's a little hard to decide on a kite size,
When it's calm in the snowmobile parking lot.
Matt and I checked the peaks for wind on our phones.
I decided on my 11M Edge, cause of my comfort range.
Matt packed both his foils, but decided on 9M when we got to the top.
8 mi. bumpy ride to the top. 19 to 26 mph from a quick wind reading.
We were both very powered when we launched our kites.
So we just rode down hill a ways to find our comfort zone.
(Less wind at lower elevation)
Tons of ridges and draws, with soft fluffy POW in the draws,
and on most of the flat areas. We would cut up the POW in one spot,
then just move a ways to another stash.
Spencer stopped by while we were taking a break, but he didn't bring gear. (fool ;)
Matt had on a helmet cam.
I made a couple of panorama shots.
Days like this are why I'm really glad I bought my sled.

3--Strawbs CC 13M

Some of the gusty-est wind I've seen at strawbs.
West,almost Southwest.
Mostly overpowered on 13,
Just pull the bar and jump high...
11M would have been better,
but it's laying on basement floor needing strut bladder patch.
Warm corn snow was just OK

1--Duchesne Ridge Sled

I went with Mat out of Woodland.
Parking lot was 3 Degree when we got there.
It got warmer as we rode. It can be a workout.
Throwing the sled around trying to learn counter steer.
Plenty warm when we stopped on top in the sun.
Hung out without parka and gloves on for a cool down break.
Only went 36 miles, but a lot in the trees.
Home early for wife birthday.

2--Strawbs CC 11M

Strawberry River was crowded and hardpacked,
and looked like not as good of wind direction.
We went to Chicken Creek and had better looking wind,
and softer snow conditions.
The powder on the lee side of the hill was great.
Doug and I cut it up until it looked like a ski run.
Just as I was heading back for a break.
The bottom fell out of the wind.
We had 3 hours, enough to not want to rig up.
Liking the Twisted more every time.

1--Strawberry River 13M, 11M

Got on the new Twisted board and love it.
It rides just like a water board,
carves sweet, lots of pop, perfect length
and a ton less burn on the front quad.

The crowds were out in force today.
I went for the powder close to the road all day.
My knee hates going over the sled tracks
and any hardpacked snow.
Carved up the colvert drift many times.
Matt and Jason rode up with me.
