8--Buckskin Fork 13M

Met Fox at Monte.
There was more snow than last time,
but not powdery, very fast snow.
You wouldn't break through, unless you fell hard.
The wind was almost to much for my 13M
when we got there, and for about 45 min.
It slowly backed of to nothing,
at about the time my legs were toast.
Maybe the best day at Buckskin.

7--Chicken Creek 17M

Kites were working really hard when we arrived.
We drove to every launch, with no better luck.
Almost as soon as we reached CC,
we rigged to better wind.
The snow was Ok, but could have been much better.
I found a gully to glide over, I like gully jumping.

The Zephyr will probably get used lots in the snow.
I also flew the Manta II, absolutly the best foil ever.

6--Dike 17M

Irv and I headed to the Dike cabin to sled out and kite.
when we got to the turn just before the cabins,
we found some wind, it was between 2 hills,
and that helped us with visibility to have tree lined hills on both side.
The snow was OK, just bottomless with little crust on top.
Irv got a few rides on his 12M.

5--SodaSprings 13M

We were kind hungover
But we went searching for a field with some stubble, so we could find our way in the whiteout conditions.
Spent most of the time helping Irv get going, he went upwind for the first time,
I rode for a while, but warm snow made fror unfavorable, sticky conditions

4--Buckskin Fork 13M

Matt and I met up with Brian Fox at the Monte parking lot. We zoomed up the road to the top, for some very sparce patches of snow. We had to shate the hill with lotsof sage brush. The snow would be better in the spots where the wind sucked, and the wind was strong where the snow sucked. I wasn't completly confident in my nipple repair, so I stayed pretty close to my sled. But I found a perfect little glide hill. Very small gliding, but looping out of some, felt pretty heroic to me..

3--Lake Creek 9MF

When I starterd to inflate my 13M
I heard a small pop. My 13M wouldn't hold air.
I pulled out my newest kite, 9M Frenzy FYX.
I had enough power to grag me around, in the windiest spots.
What a great, fast little kite.
Matt was nicely powered on his 12M.

2--LC 13M

We planed on a fairly early start,
then Matt calls and has lost or had his 12M and 9M kites stolen.
After he dealt with that, and dug out his old kite,
We still made it to the trail head by 1:00
Craig G, joined us for the sled ride to Lake Creek.
The wind felt like 11M but had to rig the 13M
to get through the deep Powder.
The gullies were super deep in the bottom,
got myself burried a couple of times.
The wind started to get fluky by 3:30,
fine with me, my legs were burning
from first 2 days in a row of powder.

photos are looking uphill from where we parked
and looking the opposite direction to the valley.

1--Skyline 13M

The snow was about as good as it gets at Skyline.
Matt and I shot up to the west ridge,
and had it all to ourselves,
while the crowds had bosco filled up.
Plenty o power on top,
so riding lower in the powder bowls was the call.
Thinking about always just parking on top.
